Sylo End of Year Update — 2022 (2024)

Hi everyone,

It’s my pleasure to write to you as we close out what has been a huge year for us at Sylo.

Those in our space say that one year spent in development here feels like five in trad-tech, and that’s definitely true of how much we’ve worked though in the last 12 months.

It’s fair to say that the Seekers, our record-breaking NFT collection and foundational tech layer have been the star of our developments in 2022. But don’t take my word at face value, let’s wind back the clock to take a look more closely at just how far we’ve come.

A comprehensive project that pulled together the best work of all our team, huge support from a range of our close partners, plus saw us bring on board some of the highest-calibre visual artists around, work on the Seekers collection began in October of 2021 and culminated in a game-changing public mint on 28 March 2022.

This launch of Sylo Nodes as the embodiment of 3D robot personalities in the metaverse via the successful release of the Seekers collection solidified a major strategic play to gamify Web3 infrastructure. In just 72 minutes, 47,895 unique NFT robots were born to take their place in FLUF World and the Third Kingdom.

To this day we remain humbled by the Web3 community’s desire to see this scale of decentralised node operation come to life to uphold communication for the open metaverse via the Sylo Network.

Over the course of this year, we have supported the Seekers on their journey, helping them to expand their reach outwards across the globe through events, partnerships and activations.

Most worthy of note, the Seekers accompanied Fluf World for presences at large-scale industry events such SXSW and NFT NYC, connecting with fans, creating new friends and spreading the word on why decentralisation matters for the delivery of an open Web3.

From a technical standpoint, integrating with the Root Network and the development of the necessary infrastructure to roll out the Seekers as operational Sylo Nodes with Phase 2 operation of the Sylo Network’s incentivisation has been a consistent focus for our backend and design teams for the majority of this year.

As the access point for onboarding mainstream users into the world of Web3, the Seeker Dashboard will be the next major release from Sylo in the new year.

With UX research, design and development finished, we are now in a phase of testing the dashboard so that we can be assured that it’s ready to be able to potentially activate thousands of nodes smoothly online. We look forward to giving you more updates on this front soon

Even more significant than the launch of the Seekers, however, has been Sylo’s journey this year to become an integral and official part of Futureverse.

The technological and cultural foundation for the open metaverse, Futureverse is an alliance of projects, people and products that are striving to create a place where the future can happen.

Just last Friday, Futureverse announced the official merger, rolling up eight Web3 companies, one of which is Sylo, into one collaborative ecosystem with the united goal of improving the Web3 and “Open Metaverse” experience.

Futureverse is the culmination of more than half a decade of strategy, research and development to create the foundation for an open and scalable metaverse infrastructure with world-class content and a highly engaged community.

As part of Futureverse, everyone at Sylo is now part of a growing entity of over 300 full-time people, co-founded by Aaron McDonald, Shara Senderoff, Marco Brondani and Daniel Gillespie.

This year was also a stellar year of progress and exposure for the Sylo Token (SYLO) as we gained listings on Huobi Global and Coinbase, with another major exchange set to be unveiled in 2023. Watch this space…
